We didn&#39;t have inter-house cricket (it finally started in 99 iirc), you couldn&#39;t bring bats and balls to school and PT periods were always about football and basketball. I always wondered why this was? I agree that many people have forgotten our heros and heroines. As an army officer myself I met Sam Bahadur as a civilian, a cadet, a gentlemen cadet and as a commissioned officer. All the encounters were truly memorable. As the author has mentioned he said the same to me when I asked for his autograph. Infact I collect autographs of famous indians who have contributed to India's 60 years of independence. Many have been sadly forgotten.
